European Conference in Athens
On 14 February 24, the “Digital Transformation and Active Ageing” conference was held in Athens, Greece, organized and hosted by the Athens Lifelong Learning Institute, at the “Impact Hub”, close to the historic center of the city. This conference constituted the final event of the “Fake News” EU project and focused on the criticality of active ageing and improving the capacity of people aged 50+ to identify misinformation and fake news. The educational platform and the materials developed were presented by the Athens Lifelong Learning Institute and made available free of charge to active ageing education and support organizations.
The event saw participation from seniors, our Institute’s researchers, representatives of the project’s partnership and professional associates and volunteers from Greece and internationally, including adult educators and social workers. Government officials from local, national and European agencies also honored us with their presence and contributed to the lively discussion that followed the presentations.
The conference proved an outstanding success, thanks to the high level of participation and interest it received, constituting the ideal culmination of a project with Europe-wide impact.
